MARTYN GREEN
PORT LECTURER & DESTINATION LECTURER
Travel Writer and Photographer

Born and educated in the Yorkshire Dales in England, Martyn has been travelling since the day he joined the Royal Air Force as an apprentice aged sixteen. This travel continued whilst working for British Airways [Long Haul Division]  then later, as an avid ‘Cruiser’.  He has contributed  articles and photographs as a writer and photographer with the International Press Association [IPA]. He has lectured about ships’ destinations on five world cruises and on numerous shorter voyages on six continents, seven if you include Antarctica.

Retiring from business early, he now spends his time on cruise ships, photographing the world, and passing on information and sharing his photographs and knowledge with cruise ship passengers.

Martyn has given Port & Destination Lectures for most major cruise lines, these include Cunard, P&O, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, Saga Cruises and many others, working on over 30 different cruise ships.
He was privileged to be asked to be the Destination Lecturer on the QE2's 'Final Voyage' from Southampton to Dubai.

Martyn now has a ‘World Wide’ collection of over 200 'Ports of Call' as Power Point® Presentations. Each has around 200 photographs, diagrams and maps. The lectures can be geared to last from half an hour to a full hour, depending on the customer requirement. He is quite used to working as part of the Shore Excursions Team, though some companies prefer the two to remain independent. Some like subliminal mentions of the tours within the lecturers.

With a UK Seaman’s Discharge Book and C1/D visa Martyn is able to work worldwide.
